Di Francesco: Dzeko can still carry Roma on his Back

The coach of Roma, Eusebio di Francesco, stated that Edin Dzeko needs help in the attack and that Roma will think about possible transfer of Mario Balotelli in the next transitional period.

Balotelli played for two great years in Nica, where he scored a total of 33 goals in 50 matches and he might be Roma’s striker from the next season.

Di Francesco believes that Dzeko can still carry Roma on his back and pull his teammates forward, but he just needs help in the attack. It remains to be seen whether it will be Balotelli or some other player.

“I wanted to bring Mario Balotelli while I was the coach of Sassuolo, but before making any decision, I have to talk to him and get to know him. We are aware of all of his qualities, but we do not want to rush into anything yet. Dzeko needs help. Edin proved that he is a great professional when he decided to stay in the club and rejected Chelsea. He is very important player for us and he can still carry the team on his back and push his teammates forward,” stated Di Francesco.

Roma finished this season at the third place behind Juventus, who won the seventh Scudetto, and Napoli, but this season will be remembered after the historic placement in semi-finals of the Champions League, where they were defeated by Liverpool.
