elevator ilijasFaris Herić is a six grade student in the elementary school Stari Ilijaš. His arrival in school is somehow different than his classmates and friends.

Namely, Faris comes to school with help of his mother who brings him on her back every day. Faris is suffering from the cerebral paralysis.

Since classrooms are on the second floor, and it is difficult for Faris’ mom to take him upstairs every day, director of the school, Mahir Dević, launched an initiative for building of the special elevator which should be completed by 30th January.

“I am very grateful to the Director Devic who decided to do this project and to make it easier for my son, the only student with cerebral paralysis, and in the same time made easier for me as well”, says Samra Heric, Faris’s mother for portal Radiosarajevo.ba.

Samra says Faris loves to go to school and that his friends help him a lot. We asked whether Faris knows that an elevator will be built for him, his mother shortly replied with a smile and said that it would be much easier for them.

Elevator will have a metal structure coated with panoramic glass, ceramic floor, and built-in lighting. School employees decided to support this project in a way that they will do all the preparatory works, so there will be a significant reduction of the cost of constructing the elevator.
