Director of the Civil Service Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Begić met today at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina Michael Murphy.

On this occasion, the US Ambassador was presented with the Agency’s key competences and activities within the framework of the development of the official system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those related to the harmonization of regulations and procedures, compliance with the obligations of the Stabilization and Association Agreement and the fulfillment of the recommendations of SIGMA and the European Commission, announced the Press Service of the FBiH Government.

Director Begić introduced Ambassador Murphy to the ways of implementing the recruitment process and professional training in the civil service, managing the Employee Register, and pointed out the key elements that are necessary to fulfill the principle of merit.

The American Ambassador was also interested in the challenges that the Agency faces in terms of the need to improve the public administration sector, especially in the part that concerns activities in the fight against corruption, increasing transparency during employment in the civil service, and the need to introduce digitization of processes.

The effort of ADS for the highest quality and most visible changes to contribute to a more professional and effective work of civil service bodies was highlighted, as well as to start applying the electronic application system for competitions as soon as possible, which will contribute to a more transparent implementation of employment procedures and a more efficient fight against corruption.

Begić emphasized that a lot of effort and resources are invested in the digitization of the processes carried out by ADS.
