The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that the relations between the Republika Srpska and Russia are friendly and full of understanding. He said this at the Russia Day reception in Banja Luka.

“Russia is important for the RS because it consistently implements the Dayton Peace Agreement, it does not do things that look like an experiment. We appreciate that, as well as the role of Russia in the UN Security Council, because it is ready to hear the position of the RS, and not only lies that various high representatives are trying to spread,” said Dodik.

According to him, RS cooperates with Russia, but he has nothing against cooperation with other eastern and western countries.

“We are neutral in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we do not join Western sanctions against Russia and we want the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible,” Dodik wrote on Twitter.

He added that at the reception he congratulated Ambassador Igor Kalabuhov on the Day of Russia.

“I told those present that I am extremely proud of the award given to me by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, for my great contribution to the development of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening the partnership with Republika Srpska.

The Order of Alexander Nevsky is the highest award that Russia awards to foreign statesmen, and I am glad that they treat me that way. I will enjoy the moment when I receive that medal from the President of Russia,” Dodik emphasized.

In the end, he said that he was also proud of the certificate of thanks that the President of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Vladimir Solovyov, presented to him today for supporting international journalistic cooperation, Klix.ba reports.
