The miners of the brown coal mine “Zenica” are suspending their strike and will go down to the pits tonight after the payment of back wages has begun, said the president of the trade union of the “Raspotočje” plant of this mine, Nedžad Duraković.

Duraković said that salaries have been paid to a number of miners and that production will begin in the third shift in the “Raspotočje” pit plant.

“Miners have started to get paid into their accounts and a number of them will start working tonight. Not all of them got paid, because today some more banks were engaged to make payments, but there is time until the end of the working day for the banks for even more miners to get money on bill,” said Durakovic.

He said that the lists of workers for the composition of the brigades were prepared during the weekend, but that for the restoration of production, the payment of the April salary and the allowance for a hot meal were awaited.

Miners stopped production in the second shift on May 25.
