Dodik: I expect that an Agreement will be reached in Mostar

The president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, said that he expects that today in Mostar, agreements will be reached that represent a step forward in the legislative process and on the way to the European Union (EU).

“I expect that we will find a way. There were too many excuses. I expect that the desire to do good for all peoples will be stronger than the desire to do bad things to others,” said Dodik.

He pointed out that Republika Srpska is committed to dialogue and compromise.

“Everything we have done in the last year, we have done by respecting the constitutional powers. I believe that we will continue to do so today,” said Dodik.

He emphasized on the social network “X” that his political experience testifies that the circumstances outside Bosnia and Herzegovina made it impossible for positive developments to be made, and that he is going to Mostar convinced that there is both human and political maturity to put the interests of the three nations before those of other geopolitical interests.

“The geopolitical situation is complex. Peoples with such strong historical memories as the peoples of the Balkans are always subject to influences that lead them to make sacrifices on the altar of other people’s interests. I believe that it is in the common interest of all of us to defend our democracy and the interest of our peoples who are elected us. Democracy and decisions that come from outside are not compatible and Republika Srpska does not agree to impositions,” said Dodik.

He stated that Republika Srpska has a strong and decisive leadership.

“Founded in the history and mentality of a great nation like the Serbs. We know that the secret of happiness is freedom, and that the secret of freedom is courage. And, in democracy, courage is nothing but serving one’s people, not foreigners and other people’s interests,” he emphasized.

A meeting of representatives of political parties of the coalition at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held today in Mostar, hosted by the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH).
