Dodik: Very Important Referendum in the RS to be held Next Year

dodikPresident of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, announced that in the RS will be held a very important referendum on its future next year.

Dodik said that he will inform the public on this issue, but that he will try to gather all Serbian political forces because he believes that everyone in the RS has right to be included in the decision-making on important issues.

The President of the RS said that a referendum on the 9th of January, was an expression of the will of the Serbian people, and that the smaller BH entity thus fought for their rights.

“We held a referendum and showed that all ratings on it do not existence. It was quiet, dignified day in which the people came out to vote on the basis of feelings and the need to secure their freedom. And we know that without freedom there is no peace in the region,” said Dodik.

He stated that the referendum is the right of RS, and that they are preparing changes to the law in order for the organization of the referendum to be even easier.

“Are we going to use the referendum? We will, whenever the opportunity arises and we think that we should. These people should get used to coming to a referendum. If we had not had a referendum, many would think that we are weak and helpless, and the referendum is strong and important. Some people do not give up on discussing it, but they can think whatever they want. The referendum is an expression of our commitment, it is legitimate and fair,” said Dodik.

“The referendum showed a lot of things, and it remains registered that the people of the RS held the first referendum on the Day of RS this year. Thus we rejected hypocrisy, abuse and political mercantilism of Sarajevo through the Constitutional Court,” said Dodik.

He noted that one of BH entities will always go to referendum when their rights and freedoms were threatened.

“It is likely that these from the SDS will come in the story of a referendum because they lost their mentors, the Americans. This ambassador will go soon,” said Dodik.
