Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik last night extended an invitation to political representatives from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for talks, said Radovan Kovačević, a delegate to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and spokesperson for the SNSD.
Kovačević stated that Dodik emphasized that BiH will return within the framework of the Constitution and constitutional order or, as he said, it will not be.
“We extended an invitation, we invited them, we are available to talk. We have been continuously calling for talks within the framework of the Constitution for 30 years,” Kovačević emphasized.
However, he told RTS, “it is debatable that political representatives from the FBiH have constantly had the support of a part of the international community to overthrow the constitutional order and change the constitutional structure of BiH.”
“We are now clearly saying – that is over. BiH will return to the framework of the Constitution and constitutional order or there will be no BiH. What we are offering and the process we are starting is the return of Republika Srpska to the framework of the Constitution of BiH. Therefore, everything that the Constitution of BiH stipulates belongs to Republika Srpska, we are very clearly saying that RS will belong to it,” said Kovačević.
Dodik’s summons followed after the Court of BiH sentenced him yesterday to one year in prison and imposed a six-year ban on him from holding the office of President of RS, for disrespecting the decisions of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.
