The president of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, reiterated that the RS is not implementing the secession plan, and he also spoke about CIA director William Burns’ visit to Sarajevo and the region.
Dodik said that he had the details of the meeting with the director of the CIA, and that there were a lot of speculations and false spins about what was said and what he noted.
“I know very well what spin is after 20 years of work here. I think that we have all lost trust in the media, that few can believe in speculation anymore. I see that after the visit of the CIA director, there is only one type of claim that comes from Sarajevo, and not a rational view,” said Dodik.
He said that he welcomes the arrival of the director of the CIA in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
“He is an intelligent and reasonable man. It was wrongly presented that he was scary. We know the details of the conversation. They (Sarajevo) needed to say how someone was scared and the like. Speculations point to cutting one part of my sentence. And I will repeat what I said. Yes, we support the territorial integrity of BiH in accordance with the Dayton Agreement. And they usually delete the word Dayton”, said Dodik.
“The RS believes that as long as BiH is maintained like this, then it can survive. We do not support any BiH outside of Dayton, especially the unitary and centralized one. If BiH cannot be maintained according to the letter of the Constitution of BiH, it is best to separate,” he added.
He added that the RS does not have a secession plan and that such a thing “does not exist in the RS”.
“This is where the plan is to protect our institutions and jurisdiction, our political autonomy. The director of the CIA clearly told them that not only Dodik is involved in the situation in BiH, but everyone,” Dodik pointed out.
He admitted that there are difficult conditions for financing in the RS due to American sanctions, but that he is successfully fighting it.
“The banks are openly threatened. But all the fools rise up, as Andric said. The arrival of the CIA was a regular measure, talks were held with the Presidency of BiH. The United States (U.S.)is a great power, we have no problem with it wherever it appears, but we have here because of their interpretation of Dayton. We don’t agree because of Christian Schmidt, that’s why I got the lawsuit because I don’t respect the decisions,” said Dodik.
He also talked about when he plans to retire, or whether it was a topic of conversation during the CIA director’s visit.
“Even if they were looking for it, it wouldn’t happen. I’m 65 years old and it’s time for me to retire, but not in the political way, that will have to wait,” said Dodik, Klix.ba writes.
