”The announcement of celebrating the unconstitutional January 9th as the Republika Srpska (RS) Entity Day represents a continuation of the violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), ” said Ramiz Salkic, a member of theNational Assembly of RS (NARS).
Salkic called on the High Representative Schmidt and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to oppose the violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the Constitution and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
“Does anyone remember Schmidt’s statement that there will be no marking of January 9th? Is the silence of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH headed by Kajganic surprising regarding the non-compliance with the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH? Both are invited to react. The first as the supreme interpreter of the Dayton Peace Agreement, according to which the decisions of the Constitutional Court are final and binding. The second according to the Constitution of BiH and the force of the law which it should protect and enforce ‘neither according to father nor according to uncles’, but as it is written, whether you like it or not,” said the deputy of the SDA in the NARS.
”The disenfranchised and systemically discriminated Bosniaks in this entity are further disturbed by the commemoration of January 9th, returning to the traumas produced by January 9th, 1992 and the decisions that were made then, they expect a reaction from the authorities, although they are not sure that this will happen based on previous experiences,” he continued.
“Obviously, in this case, force and legal violence are respected more than the Dayton Peace Agreement, the Constitution of BiHand the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH. It is high time for the High Representative and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to stop the legal violence and marking of a date that deeply offends all victims of terror, persecution, war crimes and genocide in this entity. If this does not happen, the Bosnian Serb government in this entity under the leadership of the president of the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, will continue to radicalize society by spreading intolerance towards Bosniaks and BiH, which will inevitably cause new attacks on Bosniaks and their property with unforeseeable consequences in future for peace and stability in BiH,“ stated Salkic.
He says that “therefore, it is the direct responsibility of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the high representative to react and prevent further radicalization of society and intolerance towards Bosniaks in this entity”, N1 writes.
