‘Don’t Joke About Our Red Lines,’ Russia Warns US

Regarding Washington’s idea of providing missile support to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the United States of America (USA) knows very well where Russia’s red lines are and it should not be joked with.

In a statement to the state-run Rossiya channel, Lavrov commented on US plans to supply Ukraine with cruise missiles for use on F-16 warplanes, reports Anadolia.

Stating that he would not be surprised if such a plan was implemented, Lavrov stated that the US had already crossed the threshold it had set and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had taken advantage of it.

“The United States of America must understand that our red lines are not to be trifled with. They know very well where our red lines are,” Lavrov said.

Noting that there are still reasonable people in the US who can assess the consequences of supplying arms to Ukraine, Lavrov said he hoped US interests would be taken into account.

Lavrov accused Washington of destroying all the principles underlying the Soviet-American strategic stability agreements, which were later re-approved and developed with the Russian Federation.

He added that America has begun to lose the sense of mutual strategic deterrence with Russia and warned that this is very dangerous.
