A Drill to be held at the Sarajevo International Airport

600_1477068625aerodrom-sarajevo-avion-pista-18032016-mz_22Drill titled “Plane crash at the Sarajevo International Airport” will be held at the Sarajevo International Airport on Wednesday, October 26.

“The drill is about the simulation of the crash of a B737 plane with 45 passengers and crew members, which crashed at the territory of the Sarajevo International Airport,” said the spokeswoman of the Sarajevo International Airport Sabina Kovač.

According to Kovač, the actions that will be implemented are in accordance with the Plan of measures and procedures in extraordinary situations and include engagement of employees of the Sarajevo International Airport, Emergency Help Institute, Professional Fire Brigade – Unit Airport and Unit Stup, police forces of the Sarajevo Canton, Border Police of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH – Helicopter Unit.

“Sarajevo International Airport is obliged to perform such drill every two years,” said Kovač.

Simulation of the crash and the entire drill are aimed at checking the capabilities of staff and operability of the Emergency Plan.
