The Ambassador for Human Rights of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Bahia Tahzib-Lie, will arrive on a four-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday, December 12.

During her visit to BiH, the Ambassador is scheduled to meet with representatives of the BiH authorities, non-governmental organizations, the media, human rights activists, representatives of the international community and representatives of civil society.

As pointed out, the purpose of these meetings is to establish a more detailed understanding of crucial issues related to human rights in the country and the region, which is also an opportunity to discuss the possibilities of the Netherlands to have a positive impact on the state of human rights in BiH, but also to strengthen cooperation of the two countries.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with Obala Art Center, will organize a screening of the documentary film “Bigger than Trauma” on Monday, December 12, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day and a panel discussion at which one of the panelists will be Ambassador Tahzib-Lie.

After the film, the panel discussion on the importance of respecting human rights, with a special emphasis on women’s rights, will be moderated by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jan Waltmans, and the panellists will be Ambassador Bahia Tahzib, Jasmina Mujezinović from the Foundation for Local Democracy and the Ombudsperson for Human Rights in BiH Jasminka Džumhur.
