The captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) national football team, Edin Dzeko, is the new player of Fiorentina.

Dzeko arrived in Italy two days ago, and yesterday, after completing medical examinations, he arrived at Viola Park.

This was confirmed on the official pages of the team from the Artemio Franchi stadium, and Dzeko will soon sign a contract and be presented as the team’s new footballer.

He will receive a net salary ranging between 1.5 and 1.8 million euros.

Sought-after “goods”

Even though he carries 39 years on his back, Dzeko was still highly sought after – and rightly so.

Last season he scored 21 goals and recorded nine assists for Fenerbahce.

In addition to Fiorentina, Como, Bologna, Basaksehir, Trabzon, and the ever-present Hajduk from Split were also interested in his services.

Fans delighted

His arrival in Florence sparked positive reactions among the “Viola” fans, who believe that the experienced striker will be a significant reinforcement in the fight for European ambitions.

Dzeko made his debut for the BiH national team back in 2007, and to date has played 141 matches and scored 68 goals, making him unrivaled as the top scorer in the history of the national team.

The Diamond began his career at Zeljeznicar and also played for Teplice, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, Inter, and Fenerbahce.
