The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) adopted yesterday at an emergency session the Instruction on deadlines for carrying out election activities for the purpose of holding early elections for the president of Republika Srpska (RS).
The deadlines start running from September 25th of this year, for the registration of political entities, closing of the Central Voter List, for the media campaign, confirmation, and determination of election results.
Applications for certification of participation in the elections are submitted to the CEC of BiH by political parties and independent candidates from September 25th to 29th until 4 p.m., and by coalitions until October 7th, also until 4 p.m.
Certified political entities submit candidate applications until October 14th at 4 p.m.
The final deadline for the registration of new voters voting outside BiH is October 14th, 2025, until midnight.
The Central Voter List must be closed 20 days before election day, that is, on November 3rd at midnight.
Determining polling station locations lasts until November 8th, while the media presentation of political entities begins 15 days before the elections, that is, from November 8th.
The CEC, after yesterday’s session, announced that 6.460.000.00 BAM has been secured for the implementation of these elections, which are to be held on Sunday, November 23rd of this year.
The instructions on deadlines of election activities will be available to the public on the CEC website.
“Only today, after financial resources were secured, were conditions created for the CEC of BiH to launch procedures for the necessary public procurements for the implementation of early elections for the president of RS, and at today’s session, the Procurement Plan of the CEC of BiH was adopted for the implementation of Early Elections for the president of RS in 2025. In accordance with the plan, decisions were also adopted on the procurement of services for the lease of computer and electronic equipment, printing and packaging of election material, postal delivery of election material, transport of election material, rental of space for the accommodation of the Main Counting Center, and the procurement of small office supplies and equipment for polling stations and packaging material,” stated the CEC of BiH yesterday.
