Early Presidential Elections in Republika Srpska Taking Place Tomorrow

Early elections for the president of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska will be held on Sunday, November 23. Polling stations open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

The election silence begins 24 hours before the opening of polling stations, i.e. today until 7 a.m. and lasts until the closing of polling stations, i.e. tomorrow until 7 p.m.

In addition, all activities that disrupt or obstruct the electoral process during the election silence are expressly prohibited.

From yesterday, from 7 a.m. until the closing of polling stations, a period of prohibition on publishing the results of public opinion research related to voting and elections began.

A total of 2,211 polling stations have been established, and 139 mobile teams will be working in the field. 4,767 voters will be able to vote via the mobile team.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has certified the candidacies of Dragan Đokanović (Alliance for New Politics), Branko Blanuša (SDS- Serbian Democratic Party), Siniša Karan (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats – SNSD – Milorad Dodik), Nikola Lazarević (Ecological Party of Republika Srpska), as well as independent candidates Igor Gašević and Slavko Dragičević.

As of 03.11.2025 at 24:00, a total of 1,264,364 voters were registered in the Central Voters’ Register. Of these, 20,269 voters voted by mail, and 258 voters voted in diplomatic and consular missions of BiH in Munich, Berlin, Vienna and Belgrade, according to the BiH CEC.

The BiH Central Election Commission accredited 639 observers. Of these, 515 observers are from non-governmental organizations, 99 from international organizations, and 25 from political entities.

It is estimated that the costs of holding early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska will amount to 6,460,000 BAM.
