A delegation of the public company Elektroprivreda BiH, led by General Director Elvedin Grabovica, has successfully completed negotiations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London on the financing of the construction of the hydro power plant “Vranduk” on river Bosna and expanding the capacity of the hydro power plant “Una-Kostela” on the river Una.
EBRD approved a loan of 35 million euros to Elektroprivreda BiH under very favorable conditions.
Of the approved amount for the construction of “Vranduk”, 26 million euros is planned, while for “Una-Kostela” 9 million euros is planned.
The resources allocated for the construction of the facilities will be operational after the completion of the prescribed procedures.
The press release from the Elektroprivreda BiH says that for the purpose of long-term supply of electrical energy, the FBiH reached a decision that established public interest for the construction of more power plants, among which is the construction of “Vranduk” the first priority.
The construction of “Vranduk” and “Una-Kostela” would contribute to the overall reduction in emissions of CO2 and other pollutants, improve the production of energy in the hydro and thermal plants of Elektroprivreda BiH, and it would also contribute to economic development of the FBiH.
