Visiting Director-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson said on Tuesday that European Commission (EC) has intention to give opinion on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) answers on EC Questionnaire by the end of May.

During his visit to BiH’s capital Sarajevo, Danielsson emphasized his support to BiH on its European path, BiH’s Presidency press office said in a statement the same day.

Danielsson said that the BiH Presidency has an essential role on BiH’s path to the EU, pointing out that a joint visit of BiH Presidency members to Brussels in January this year sent a clear and positive message and he praised the very quickly taken measures such as the decrease in roaming prices in Western Balkan.

BiH Presidency members Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic stated country’s commitment to achieve full membership in the EU, which was confirmed by the adoption of the EU Integration Statement at the first regular session of the BiH Presidency after the general elections held in Oct.2018.

At the end of the meeting, Danielsson informed presidency members that he will invite investors attending European Bank for Reconstruction and Development 2019 Annual Meeting here on May 8, to increase their investments in BiH.

On Feb.28, 2018, BiH handed the answered EU accession questionnaire with total of 3,242 questions to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, after which the EC sent additional 655 questions.  A total of 3,897 questions were answered, and all responses were contained in 23,000 pages, and 1,500 civil servants divided into 35 groups have worked on answering the questions.
