At the two-day meeting of the Subcommittee on Economic and Financial Issues and Statistics between BiH and the EU, which ended today, predictions were made that the economic growth of BiH in the period from 2023 to 2025 will be decreased.

Assistant Minister of Finance of BiH Vera Letica, who co-chaired the meeting held in an online format, told FENA that the representatives of the EU informed the BiH side about the latest macroeconomic trends and their predictions for the next period, while the representatives of BiH presented data related to our country.

She added that it was established that, after the economic growth at the beginning of the current year, the impact of global events was felt, which was reflected in the increase in prices, the growth of inflation and the foreign trade deficit.

“Predictions were made that BiH will continue to follow economic trends in the environment and partner economies and that economic growth in the period from 2023 to 2025 will be decreased,” said Letica.

She stated that the BiH delegation informed the EU representatives about the state of the budget for 2023 and the global fiscal framework of BiH for the period from 2023 to 2025, and about the adoption of the comprehensive public finance management strategy in BiH for the same period, which represents one of the most important advances in fulfilling the requirements of the opinion of the European Commission.
