The municipality of Tesanj is one of the most developed in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and this proves why it is an economic leader.
Photovoltaic plants in Tesanj will produce enough electricity to cover 70% of the consumption of all households and firms in its territory, the mayor of the municipality Suad Huskic said.
According to the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) of Tesanj until 2030, 15 photovoltaic power plants with a total installed power of 608 kW were registered by 2020.
At the opening of the 17th International Trade Fair Tesanj – BiH 2023, the mayor of the municipality Suad Huskic stated that their population has increased since the 2013 census and that they are among the ten municipalities in BiH with more births than deaths, and are the first in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) in terms of the number of students in primary schools.
As he stated, there are 2.817 companies with around 14.000 employees in the municipality. Moreover, he said that Tesanj is already implementing the energy transition.
At the end of next year, we will have about 400 solar power plants, with an installed capacity of 17 MW, which will produce 70 percent of the electricity consumed by Tesanj, i.e. companies with 14.000 employees and about 44.000 inhabitants, said Huskic, Biznis Info reports.
