Economy in Tesanj resists the Pandemic

Last year, the Tesanj economy placed goods and services worth 480 million BAM on the foreign market. Continuity of success has been achieved thanks to the unity and exchange of experiences between 140 members of the Association of Businessmen ”Business Center” Jelah-Tesanj, which this year marks two decades of existence.

Despite the pandemic, the economy of the municipality of Tesanj is recording good results. More than 13.000 workers are employed here, and the number of pensioners per employee is 2.6 and is twice the federal average. In 2020, the Tesanj economy realized exports of 357 million and 480 million BAMin the last year.

The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Chamber of Commerce, Mirsad Jasarspahic, believes that this is a ”special philosophy”, which, as he says, thanks to the people of Tesanj, is spreading to the rest of BiH.

”The pandemic has shown that this is a very active and resilient economy that can be quickly reorganized in various ways,”stated Suad Huskic, mayor of Tesanj (SDA).

Due to the pandemic in the past two years, the International Trade Fair was not held in Tesanj.

At the 17th regular assembly of the Association, Tesanj businessmen received the support of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) for the organization of the Fair.

”Soon we will announce the public call and those who work on that administration should already contact the Government with a request and we will respond,” said Mirnes Basic, Prime Minister of ZDC (SDA).

The sixteenth international trade fair ”Tesanj 2022” will be held from September 21st to 24th this year.
