Education of Adults: “ALDI” from Gorazde implemented 180,000 EUR worth Project

projectThe Agency for Local Development Initiatives “ALDI” from Gorazde signed the Agreement on financing the project “Ensuring and improving the quality of adult education in the context of lifelong learning” with the EU Delegation in BiH in July.

The project that is worth 180,000 EUR will last for 36 months and will be implemented in partnership with the secondary vocational school “Dzemal Bijedic” in Gorazde, while important role will also have the Cantonal Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sports, the Employment Service, Economic and Trade Chamber of BPC and businessmen who support the idea of the project as important and useful for the economic development of this canton.

“The main goal of the project is development of software and institutional capacities and improving access to adult education in the context of lifelong learning,” said Meliha Gacanin, the executive director of ALDI.

This goal will be achieved through education and training that are complied with the requirements of the labor market and through improvement of the cooperation of employers, institutions and partners in the field of education and employment, with the aim to reduce unemployment and increase labor mobility.

“Key results that will be achieved by the project are designed Strategy for Adult Education in BPC Gorazde, ensured andragogical seminars for 20 teachers and engineers from the area of the Upper Drina Region, certification of 250 persons trained for work, of which 150 registered unemployed persons will get a proper education and certificates and 100 employees will be certified for occupation in which they are employed without formal qualifications. It will also create the conditions for taking the master craftsman exam for 30 people who are employed in companies in the area of our canton,” explained the director, Meliha Gacanin.

According to the Minister of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sport Damir Zuga, BPC Gorazde is the first canton that regulated this field of education and most likely the first in BiH to have developed strategy of education.

Secondary vocational school “Dzemal Bijedic” in cooperation with the Agency for Local Development Initiatives “ALDI” is implementing the third project in the last 4 years.

Cooperation of partners and associates in the project was confirmed by signing the agreement, with which the implementation of the project was officially started. The obligation of the signatories is the maximum engagement in achieving the objectives of the project.
