Egyptian Trucks Carrying Humanitarian Aid Enter Gaza via Rafah Crossing

Several Egyptian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing on Sunday morning, transporting essential relief supplies, including food and infrastructure necessities.

Video footage shows several trucks loaded with tons of goods moving from the Egyptian side into Gaza.

Meanwhile, Egyptian media reported that the convoy is part of Egypt’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people.

According to reports, the supplies being transported by Egyptian and Emirati trucks include food and materials intended for the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure.

There was no detailed statement from the Egyptian Red Crescent or the relevant authorities regarding the total number of trucks or the schedule of further deliveries.

The aid delivery comes amid growing international pressure to allow unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, where United Nations (UN) agencies have warned of imminent famine and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure due to ongoing Israeli military operations.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli military has been conducting a brutal offensive on Gaza since October 7th, 2023, killing over 59.700 Palestinians, mostly women and children. The relentless bombardment has devastated the enclave and led to food shortages.

Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide lawsuit before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
