In the area of Police Administration in Gradiska, 11 migrants were found in the territory of Republika Srpska who entered from neighboring countries.

Migrants are citizens of Palestine (3), Syria (3), Morocco (2), Taiwan (1), Tunisia (1) and Libya (1).

The migrants found are handed over to members of the Border Police Unit in Bosanska Gradiska.

In the area of Police Administration Bosanska Gradiška, in 2018, 299 migrants were intercepted.

Several days ago, eleven illegal migrants without identification documents were intercepted in Bijeljina.

The police said they came to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina from neighboring countries.

It has been proven that they are illegal immigrants from Pakistan.

They are handed over to the inspector for foreigners in Bijeljina Field Office.

In 2018, 1,667 illegal migrants were found in the area covered by this police administration, mostly from Pakistan, 1,150.

Hundreds of thousands of migrants passed through the so-called “Balkan route” in 2015, trying to reach Western Europe. BiH was then not part of that route. The increasing number of migrants was recorded from the end of 2017, and since January this year, over 23,902 migrants and refugees arrived through Serbia and Montenegro, compared to a mere 755 in 2017.

Out of the total number, 22,177 migrants expressed their intention for asylum, but 1,358 actually applied for asylum, the information from BiH Foreigners Office showed.

Currently, there are between 4,000 and 5,000 migrants on the territory of BiH.
