Koncert fena.co.baMore than 500 persons from the diplomatic core attended the great charity concert “Cultural Evening of Bosnia and Herzegovina” organized by Mr Aziz Boolani from Serena hotels with the help of the Embassy of BiH in Pakistan. Raised funds will be used for the construction of a school that will be named after Alija Izetbegović.

The concert, which was held in the hotel Serena in Islamabad, was opened by the BiH Ambassador Nedim Makarević. In his address, he emphasized the need for adequate education, with a note that Pakistan has a problem with illiteracy that must be solved.

The concert was attended by ambassadors of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, China, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Spain, Iran, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

While opening this important concert, Ambassador Makarević explained why he chose the location near the town Pind Dada Khan for construction of the school that will be named after the first president of the Presidency of Republic of BiH Alija Izetbegović.

“That is a poor part of Pakistan, the area is infertile, barren. We want to help a friendly country and in this way repay the Pakistani people at least a little bit for all the help that they have been offering to us for years and decades,” Makarević said.

Ambassador of BiH thanked Pakistan, the Government of the Republic of Turkey, especially the Agency for Development (TIKA), the hotel Serena, and honorary BiH consuls in Pakistan who wholeheartedly supported this project.

The concert was also attended by ministers of education, culture and sport of Pakistan, as well as many individuals from public life of this country, and it was broadcasted by the national television PTV.
