tuzlaThe number of employed persons in the Tuzla Canton is larger than the number of unemployed, according to the data of the Employment Office of the Tuzla Canton and the Tax Administration of BiH.

According to these institutions, there were 94.126 employed persons and 91.989 unemployed persons at the territory of this canton in May 2016.

For the first time after the war, the ration is in favor of the employed ones. The fall in the number of unemployed in 2016 and the increase in the number of employed persons from the register of the Employment Office are constant during 2016.

While analyzing data for the first quarter of this year, related to employment per municipalities in the Tuzla Canton, it can be noticed that the highest number of employed persons is in Tuzla (30.681), then in Gračanica (9.413), Živinice (8.814), Lukavac (8.078), Gradačac (7.390), Banovići (5.191), Srebrenik (5.101), Kalesija (3.704), Kladanj (2.003), Doboj Istok (1.726), and Čelić, Sapna and Teočak with less than one thousand employed persons each.

The highest number of unemployed persons is also registered in the city of Tuzla, but that is the only city with a significantly higher number of employed persons than unemployed. In other municipalities, the difference is substantially smaller and in the majority of cases it is the higher number of unemployed than employed persons at the territory of municipalities, stated the Office for Joint Affairs of the Cantonal Bodies.
