Several hundred employees of public utility companies in Kosovska Mitrovica gathered in front of the Poštanska štedionica branch in that city, with the intention of raising their salaries, which were paid to them from the budget of the Government of Serbia today. There is no money at the ATMs, but at the counters they can withdraw up to 10,000 dinars, while the money supply lasts.

Today, the workers of the utility company “Standard” are in line for the payment of their salaries, because the authorities in Pristina have not allowed the distribution of dinars to Kosovo for more than a month.

According to RTS, individuals who receive salaries and other income from the budget of the Government of Serbia, as well as institutions, as well as health and education, are affected.

Since February 1, when the decree of the Central Bank of Kosovo entered into force, which introduced the euro as the only currency for payment, the difficult situation due to the ban on the use of the dinar was pointed out by educational and health workers, groups of citizens dependent on social assistance, and recipients children’s allowance.

In the areas south of Kosovska Mitrovica, where mostly Serbs live, there are no dinars at ATMs and Post office counters for days.

Through the dialogue in Brussels, representatives of the authorities in Pristina and Belgrade have not yet found a solution for the use of dinars, Beta news agency writes.
