The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija received the winner of the “Silver Bear” for the best male lead at the 63rd Berlinale Nazif Mujić, who was congratulated on winning this award.

Lagumdžija said that this award has made all citizens of BiH very proud.

On the other hand, he expressed his regret at what Nazif and his family endured. This is also shown in the movie “Epizoda u životu berača željeza“ (An episode in the life of an iron picker) directed by Danis Tanović, who also won the “Silver Bear” and the ecumenical prize from Germany for promotion of human rights.

Lagumdžija said that he was personally very upset after watching the movie and said that the BiH local authorities, regardless of their level, have to exert more effort in order to ensure equal rights for all BiH citizens.

With this in mind, Lagumdžija will personally work to provide assistance to the project of providing the resources necessary for the education of 22 Roma children led by Nazif Mujić.

Mujić thanked Lagumdžija for the cordial reception and congratulations, as well as for his support at the screening of the film in Berlin.
