Epicenter near Sarajevo: Earthquake awakens Citizens early this Morning

The earthquake that struck the Sarajevo area early this morning, July 29, woke up many citizens, and many shared their experiences on the platform of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to the first information, the epicenter of the earthquake was 14 kilometers east-northeast of Sarajevo, at a depth of six kilometers, due to which the ground shaking was felt in several parts of the capital and surrounding municipalities.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1.

Citizens from Sarajevo, Lukavica, Vogošća and Kobilja Glava say that the earthquake lasted only a few seconds, but that it was strong enough to wake them up or disturb them.

One resident of Sarajevo wrote that the earthquake woke him up.

“Woke me up. A short blast. Seventh floor.”

Citizens from Lukavica reported that they felt a clear tremor with a characteristic sound.

“Perceptible oscillation and present sound.”

Residents of the settlement of Kobilja Glava state that the earthquake was short, but noticeable.

“Short but pretty strong.”

Others described it as a slight tremor.

In Vogošća, a citizen briefly described the situation with the words: “It shook nicely.”

For now, there is no information about material damage or injured persons.
