Escobar: Instead of spending Time with corrupt Politicians in BiH, I would prefer economic Topics

United States (U.S.) diplomat Gabriel Escobar said his state would continue to put pressure to unblock state authorities.

He told this in an interview for the Kosovo portal Reporters, in which he spoke about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

“Dayton has maintained peace for 25 years and the U.S. remains fully committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH. The U.S. will continue to push for a diplomatic solution to the political crisis and the return of Bosnian Serb parties to state institutions,” he stated.

According to him, the fact is that corruption and the current situation in BiH affect all constituent peoples and make it impossible for the economy of this country to be prosperous.

Escobar indicated that the U.S. should continue to operate in BiH.

“Instead of spending time meeting corrupt officials, I would prefer the U.S. to spend our energy raising awareness of BiH’s great talent and economic potential. I hope that politicians will agree that focusing on the needs of their people is more necessary than gaining political points or striving for self-enrichment and personal gain, ” he finalized in an interview with Reporters.

To recall, in an interview with CNN in the middle of last month, he emphasized that only Belarus and Azerbaijan are worse than BiH in terms of corruption.
