The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, participated in an informal dinner of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union and the Western Balkans in Brussels, during which he emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina fully respects the fundamental values of the European Union: democracy, the rule of law, human rights, solidarity and constructive political dialogue.
The informal dinner was hosted by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, according to a statement from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the talks, the participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to stability, constructive dialogue and stronger cooperation across the Western Balkans, as well as within the European integration process.
All parties agreed that a lasting regional dialogue is key to stability and to bringing each partner closer to the European Union. The talks focused on regional security, political dialogue and the European perspective, the fundamental pillars of a more resilient and prosperous Western Balkans.
Konaković stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina fully respects the fundamental values of the European Union: democracy, the rule of law, human rights, solidarity and constructive political dialogue. He stressed that strengthening cooperation with EU institutions, member states and regional partners remains a strategic priority and a key investment in a secure, prosperous and European future for the entire region.
The EU representatives, it is reported, stressed the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopting two key laws and appointing a chief negotiator, which are necessary steps for the country to progress in the European integration process.
