EUFOR Commander, Major General Maurizio Fronda, conducted an official visit to Višegrad and Foča, reaffirming EUFOR’s continued presence, preparedness, and commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of a comprehensive readiness and reinforcement review, Major General Fronda visited the Temporary Station Area (TSA) at Ustikolina – Kosova Barracks. During the visit, he received detailed briefings on the local security landscape, ongoing joint activities, and continued training conducted between EUFOR troops and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Continuing his tour, Major General Fronda met with personnel at the Slovakia LOT Houses in Višegrad. The visit provided valuable insight into the daily engagements of EUFOR troops with local communities. LOT teams delivered comprehensive briefings on their outreach activities, emphasizing their role in maintaining situational awareness, fostering trust, and strengthening cooperation with local institutions.

“LOT Houses play a vital role in preserving strong ties with communities and ensuring continuous understanding of the local environment. They ensure that EUFOR remains connected to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated Major General Fronda.

The Commander also met with the Mayors of Višegrad and Foča during the course of his tour. In these discussions, local authorities outlined ongoing local development projects, which have been made possible by the stable security situation within Bosnia and Herzegovina. Major General Fronda reiterated EUFOR’s firm commitment to close cooperation with domestic authorities, supporting capacity-building efforts that contribute to long-term stability and prosperity for all citizens.

This engagement sends a clear message: EUFOR remains credible, ready, and fully committed to underpinning peace, security and stability throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through proactive planning, visible presence, and strong partnerships, EUFOR continues to deliver both reassurance and deterrence across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prepared. Present. Committed.
