In the AMG and M divisions of German manufacturers, they rub their hands with satisfaction.
The latest data indicate that the recovery of the car market this year affected all domains. When it comes to Europe, this is noticeable even in the sub-segment of particularly attractive premium sports cars. One brand stood out in particular, Motor1 points out.
It is BMW, whose M division sold as many as 19,600 cars in Europe in the first half of this year. Believe it or not, that’s a 58 percent increase. If we add to that another 16,400 units sold in America, it is clear that BMW is rubbing its hands with satisfaction.
These are “real” M models, not those sporty versions of regular models, such as, for example, the M340i. Thus, the powerful SUV XM, which is one of the most expensive and heaviest BMWs, has sold more than 1,000 copies, both in Europe and in the USA.
They can also be satisfied in Mercedes. The AMG department recorded sales of 13,700 vehicles this year, which is a plus of as much as 57 percent.
The legendary G-class, or rather the G63, accounted for a quarter of AMG’s sales.
