The on-call team of the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Station Sarajevo successfully rescued an injured foreign citizen during a demanding rescue operation on Mount Trebević late on Monday.

According to GSS Sarajevo, the rescue team received a call for assistance in the late evening hours of July 28 after a group of foreign visitors encountered difficulties while hiking in the Boguševac area. The situation became critical when one of the hikers suffered a leg injury on extremely steep and inaccessible terrain.

Rescuers quickly reached the location, administered first aid, and immobilized the injured person’s leg before beginning a carefully coordinated evacuation. Using specialized rescue equipment designed for difficult terrain, the team safely transported the injured hiker to an accessible road.

The injured woman was then handed over to an Emergency Medical Service team for further treatment.

The successful operation once again highlighted the professionalism, expertise, and rapid response capabilities of the Sarajevo Mountain Rescue Service, whose rescuers safely concluded another challenging mission in the mountains surrounding the Bosnian capital.
