Suspect in Medjugorje Religious Site Desecration to Be Transferred to BiH Prosecutor’s Office

A Polish citizen, suspected of desecrating and burning religious buildings in the Marian Shrine in Međugorje, will be handed over today to the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will decide on a proposal for custody and further measures after questioning, it was confirmed for BHRT.

The BiH Prosecutor’s Office announced that the suspect is charged with the criminal offense of damaging or demolishing religious buildings.

The suspect will be handed over to the prosecutor by the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, after he was arrested yesterday.

After questioning the suspect, the prosecutor will make a decision on the eventual referral of a proposal for detention to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on further activities in the investigation.
