EUFOR Commander Meets Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 06 March 2026, the EUFOR Commander, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Ivica Bošnjak.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and to reaffirm the strong and constructive cooperation between EUFOR and the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening professional standards and ensuring that the security agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain capable, prepared and aligned with international best practices. Continued joint training activities were highlighted as a key tool for enhancing interoperability, operational readiness and mutual trust.

Deputy Minister Bošnjak expressed his appreciation for EUFOR’s continued support and underlined the importance of EUFOR’s presence and partnership for maintaining a stable and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Major General Fronda emphasized that cooperation brings tangible benefits to both EUFOR and the security agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and represents a visible demonstration of unity of effort and shared responsibility in maintaining a safe and secure environment in BiH.

Both sides agreed that the continued development of a strong partnership through regular open dialogue and joint training activities, remains essential for preserving stability and strengthening confidence across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The EUFOR Commander highlighted the strong and ongoing connection with the Ministry of Security and reaffirmed EUFOR’s steadfast and impartial commitment to supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens, in line with EUFOR’s mandate. Security and stability are in the interest of all, and EUFOR will continue to stand firm, remaining reliable and committed to that objective.
