EUFOR Commander met with SIPA Police Director

Commander EUFOR, Major General Reinhard Trischak, visited SIPA today where he met with Director Darko Ćulum. Since this was the first visit by COM EUFOR to SIPA since Darko Ćulum was appointed Director, they discussed the priorities for the work of SIPA and future plans, as well as the current security challenges in BiH and the world.

Major General Trischak congratulated Director Ćulum on his appointment and expressed that the successful cooperation with SIPA in the past should be continued in the future. “Close cooperation in areas of mutual interest is important and I appreciate the efforts SIPA undertakes to fight crime and ensure the rule of law in BiH”, he said.

The successful cooperation and coordination with EUFOR was also highlighted by Director Ćulum with reference to exercise “Quick Response 2020”. There SIPA participated in different scenarios, like an airplane hijacking scenario and terrorist attack at Sarajevo International Airport, and a dynamic display to mark the end of the EUFOR’s annual peace support operations exercise.
