European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of September, Klix.ba has learned.

She will stay in the Western Balkans for a few days, and during the visit she is expected to provide new support to BiH on its European path and the fight against coronavirus and the country’s economic recovery.

Her visit can be interpreted as support for High Representative Christian Schmidt as well as reform processes.

During the visit, Von der Leyen should meet with members of the BiH Presidency, the BiH Council of Ministers and members of the State Parliament Collegium.

The arrival of a high-ranking EU official is a clear signal from Brussels that the Balkans will remain in the focus of the European Union.

This is the first time that Von der Leyen is coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
