Exhibition of Austrian and B&H Artists on War Experiences, Survival and Losses in Sarajevo

U SARAJEVU IZLOŽBA AUSTRIJSKIH I BH UMJETNIKA O RATNIM ISKUSTVIMA, OPSTANCIMA, GUBICIMA...The exhibition “SHARE-Too Much History, MORE Future” that presents contemporary artworks of B&H and Austrian artists dedicated to the war and its aftermath will open tonight at the B&H Art Gallery.

“Although the video works of artists Mladen Miljanović, Šejla Kamerić, Adela Jusić, Mladen Bundal, Irena Sladoja, Igor Bošnjak, Gordana Anđelić-Galić, Ana Hoffner, Marina Gržinić and Aina Smid, Anna Jermoalewe, Herman Peseckas, Tommy Schneider, and Ernst Logar characterize memories, at the exhibition there can be found artworks which describe the present as well, as a result of that past. Everything is facing the future after all”, said at today’s press conference in Sarajevo Annemaria Turk, a Consultant and Curator from Vienna.

Thus, the exhibition will present personal and collective experiences, ways to overcome the events of the past, survival and losses, and falls that an individual experiences in the moments of dramatic changes. This exhibition is created on the occasion of marking the 100 years since the start of World War I in Sarajevo.

Maja Bajević and Adnan Jasika will participate as guests of this exhibition, adds Turk.

After Sarajevo where the exhibition will be open until 4 April, video works of B&H and Austrian artists will be presented in Klagenfurt and Banja Luka.
