An exhibition ” Cyrillic Script in Medieval Documents, Inscriptions and Records” has been opened in Regional Museum in Doboj.
The exhibition will offer 11 boards with 50 photos of Cyrillic texts from the middle ages to 19th century.
The Museum’s curator Milka Ćosić said that those texts were written on parchment, paper or carved in stone by skilled and less skilled masons or scribes, who had the obligation or necessity, and a desire to leave their mark for future times
First Cyrillic was founded in 9th century in Bulgaria, and Cyril and Methodius brought it to these areas in 12th century, and it became the main script in Bosnia, Hum and Dubrovnik.
Regional Museum of Doboj was founded in 1956, and has more than 20 000 exhibits from the wider Doboj region.
