Around 70 beautiful old-timers took part in the fifth international gathering of the old-timers in Mostar. The largest attraction is Mercedes from the 1930’s that appeared in the popular series and movie “Povratak otpisanih”.

The president of Oldtimer Club Mostar, Zdravko Vidovic, stated that this is the fifth international gathering, but this year it is held under the flag of the world organization of old-timers FIVA and in the cooperation with UNESCO.

“We did something that no one has done in this country with this cooperation. We expect about seventy cars, and the oldest one dates back from 1930’s. We will go through the city, at the spring of Buna River in Blagaj, then on ranch of Raic family, and our trip will be finalized in the Water Park of Aluminij,” said Vidovic.

Anto Cuturic from Kiseljak owns the Mercedes of S-Class from 1937 that was used in the cult series and the film “Povratak otpisanih”.

Jakisa Vranjes is from Kasteli near Split and he owns Mercedes 220S from 1952, and he is a regular visitor to all similar events.

“Every car has its own value, but since I am not selling my cars, I do not think a lot about it. It is easy to see what is the price of a car like this on the Internet. I am enjoying this type of car, and I use it sometimes to ride on a coffee date. You can drive it like any other car, it can easily reach 120 km/h,” said Vranjes, who added that he owns nine finished old-timers, and around fifteen of those that require some additional work.

Jakisa’s wife added that they have seven grandchildren and each one of them is expecting a car from their grandfather.
