stecakWith the quotes of Miroslav Krleža “May the Miss Europe forgive us, only Bosnia has monuments. Stećaks”, the exhibition Stone Sleeper was opened last night in the Youth Club “Under the Same Sun”.

The exhibition was prepared by children, volunteers and staff of the Daily Children Center Jablanica, with support from the Ministry of Culture and Sports of FBiH.

There are over forty necropolises of stećaks at the territory of the Jablanica Municipality and four locations are included on the list of the National Commission for the Protection of Culture Monuments.

This year, stećaks were included on UNESCO’s list of protected monuments of world culture heritage and one of the locations is in the Jablanica Municipality. That necropolis is located in Dugo Polje, Risovac.
