At the site of Šarića Brdo in Travnik municipality, the exhumation process was completed and the complete remains of one person were found.

According to available information and evidence, it is presumed that the victim is an older person of Serbian ethnicity.

An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH directly supervised the activities in the field and coordinated the exhumation process, on an order of the case prosecutor.

The exhumation process involved officers from the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, the RS Institute of Forensic Medicine, a forensic medicine specialist, required workers and mechanisation, as well as Central Bosnia Canton police officers.

After their discovery, the remains of the victim will be transported to JKP Gradska groblja Banja Luka /Public Utility Company – Public Graveyards Banja Luka/, where forensic and criminal-technical processing will be performed, that is, where the determining of the cause of death and taking bone samples will take place in order to determine the identity of the victim through DNA analysis.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with all institutions involved in the process of searching for and identifying missing persons, continues intensive activities in the search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
