Exhumation Process near Clinical Centre Sarajevo completed

During the exhumation near the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, fragments of bones, shoes and a watch that are presumed to belong to the victims of the past war were found, the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH stated in the press release.

The exhumation was carried out on the basis of information from a witness who stated that the remains of the victims who were transferred from the morgue of the hospital in Kosevo were found at this site.

The remains, as well as the found objects, were transferred to the prosecution of the Public Utility Company “Sveti Marko” in Miljevici, where their forensic processing will follow, ie forensic – medical and forensic – technical expertise and removal of bone samples, in order to established the identity of the victim.

The exhumation was carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH.

The exhumation was also attended by investigators from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, an anthropologist of the International Commission for Missing Persons and members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior.
