forum3Professor of mathematics from Sarajevo primary school “Behaudin Selmanović”, Fahrija Muratović, represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the prestigious forum Global Educator Exchange, which was held in Redmond, Washington. Muratović was one of the 300 most innovative educators on this event.

“The project, which I represented in Redmond, was designed and implemented by my colleague, professor of class teaching, Dženita Demir, and me. However, because of the proposition of this competition, the duty of presenting the project in Redmond was given to me since Dženita already had this opportunity on Global Forum 2014. The project called ‘Sole in the Cloud’ is actually one of the models for teaching a new generation in new time to come, where advances in technology and many Microsoft applications allow more creativity and interests in teaching and developing the students’ independence in their work, research spirit, the ability of selecting information and logical linking of educational content and learning with understanding, “said prof. Muratović.

FORUM2Thanks to this project, Microsoft and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton initiated a broader initiative called the “School of the Future” which included nine other schools in the Sarajevo Canton. The project was remarkable in Redmond, because it fits into the world trends and methods of work, and the Forum certainly was not a competition but the highlight was on the gathering of teachers and the exchange of experiences.

“By participating in the Microsoft Global Education Forum, I’ve got a unique opportunity to socialize with teachers from all around the world, to exchange our experiences and the advancement of knowledge and work in the classroom which will greatly improve the performance of our students, and certainly give the necessary highlight on the importance of using technology in the education “, said Muratović.
