Faruk Suljovic, a young Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) athlete, is in Bulgaria on a humanitarian mission which he began from the Sarajevo Campus toward Istanbul, traveling by bicycle and on foot. He embarked on this mission to collect funds for the treatment of Anelija Smajic.
Faruk posted on social media from Bulgaria, where local cyclists joined him.
He also stated that 25 thousand BAM have been collected so far.
On his way to Istanbul, Faruk is being assisted by the organization Pomozi.ba. Also, ambassadors of the project are raising awareness about the importance of this humanitarian mission through social media and the media.
Citizens can donate money to a bank account with the note “1.200 kilometers for Anelija,” as well as by calling the humanitarian number 17041.
Last year he was on the Sarajevo-Greece mission
Last year, Faruk and his team ran, swam, and cycled from Sarajevo to Olympus in Greece.
At that time, more than 22 thousand BAM were collected for cancer patients.
The entire journey from Sarajevo to Greece was turned into a documentary film, N1 writes.
