Fast Road from Mostar to the Croatian Border starting to be constructed Next Year

lasicMinister of Transport and Communications of the FB&H Denis Lasic said that the construction of fast road from Mostar through Siroki Brijeg to the border with the Republic of Croatia is planned, among other things, next year.

On the question when the works will start on the section Pocitelj – Mostar and whether the financial resources were allocated for it, Lasic answered that the development of major projects and securing resources for the construction of this section is in its final stage and it can be said that the construction of the highway corridor 5C Buna – Pocitelj is quite certain.

Speaking on the priorities for next year, the minister emphasized the construction of the 11 kilometers long section  Pocitelj – Zvirovici, then 6 kilometers long subsection Donja Gracanica – Klopce, 7 kilometers long subsection Pocitelj – Buna as well as section Zenica North (from the tunnel on the entrance to Zenica ) – Donja Gracanica in a length of 4 kilometers.

Talking about the number of projects within the framework of modernization of the roads in the period from 2015 to 2019, the minister said that they prepared a program with the PE Roads of FB&H that is related to the construction, reconstruction and modernization of the main roads.

“According to the Program, we are planning the loan in the amount of 150 million EUR and additional 20 million EUR for repairing the damage caused by floods. This program should be financed from the loan by the EBRD, EIB and WB. With this loans, it is planned to continue with the construction of the main road Stolac – Neum, Mostar bypass, to continue the work on the main road Sarajevo – Tuzla on the passage Karaula, to continue the work on the main road Bihac – Bosanska Krupa as well as bypass in some other cities, the construction of the lanes for slow vehicles on the riser sections of the main roads which are now overloaded, and reconstruction of bridges and tunnels. Moreover, we will update the decision on the new categorization of public roads and start the initiative for taking the loan for repair of the specific priority regional roads that will become the main roads by the new decision,” said the Minister of Transport and Communications of FB&H.
