In the first match of the third qualifying round of the Europa League, players of FC Željezničar were defeated by the host club FC Standard with the score 2: 1, in Liege.
Domestic Standard scored after only 16 minutes. Knockaert kicked the ball from the side and Kosorić tried to throw it back to Santini, but it ended up in the net. In the 27th minute of the match, the score was 2: 0 for Standard.
The Željezničar defense maneuvered, and in the finals, Knockaert checkmated Antolović. De Sart shot the ball powerfully from 20 meters, but Antolović luckily managed to save the goal and set it in the corner.
After 58 minutes, Kokot shot from 25 meters, however the ball did not significantly threaten the opponents’ net. Just a minute later, Kokot tried again by throwing the ball from the side. After 60 minutes, the home team played a good offense, and scored again.
After 64 minutes, the Blue team reduced the score to 2: 1. Hadžiahmetović pulled the ball, passed it to Đelmić on the edge of the penalty area, then kicked the ball and scored for the Blue team. Three minutes later, Željo performed a free kick and Kosorić hit the goalpost. Knockaert tried from the free kick, but Antolović was up to the task.
Four minutes before the end, Željo had two great opportunities. First Sadiković shot and the Standard goalkeeper fantastically managed to save his goal. Later, Bajić hit the goalpost from the corner.
