Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić met today with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rezeq Namoora, with whom he discussed the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza, with a special emphasis on children’s rights and the protection of civilians.
Minister Delić expressed his sympathy for the Palestinian people due to the continued suffering of civilians in Gaza, especially women and children, and emphasized that the killing of innocents, including humanitarian and medical workers, as well as journalists, cannot and must not be justified under any circumstances.
“The world must not remain silent about inhumane methods such as starving civilians, especially children and babies, and denying access to water and medical assistance. This is a violation of international law, but also of the basic principles of humanity,” said Minister Delić, adding that he sympathizes with the Palestinian people and especially the children of Gaza who are deprived of the most basic right; the right to life and childhood.
Ambassador Namoora thanked Minister Delić for his support and understanding, emphasizing that the messages of solidarity from Bosnia and Herzegovina are particularly important for the people of Palestine.
“Sarajevo, which knows the pain of siege, has a soul that accepts nothing but the truth,” said the ambassador, emphasizing with this Arabic proverb the essence of Sarajevo and its people.
Minister Delić concluded by emphasizing that solidarity with civilian victims is not a political issue, but a matter of fundamental human morality and values that we as a society must try to preserve, given that they are already deeply undermined.
