Based on the orders of the Special Department of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and under the supervision of the acting federal prosecutor of the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of FBiH, police officers of the Federal Police Administration (FUP) are conducting activities at four locations in the area of the West Herzegovina and Zenica-Doboj cantons for the purpose of temporarily confiscating evidence as part of the investigation conducted by the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

Actions on the ground are carried out by a large number of police officers of the Federal Police Administration, with the aim of documenting criminal acts committed when a private business entity from Široki Brijeg was engaged by the City of Široki Brijeg for the removal of waste to the Mošćanica Regional Landfill in Zenica.

Investigations carried out so far point to the suspicion that from the budget of the City of Široki Brijeg, from the beginning of 2020, a multimillion-dollar amount was paid to the aforementioned private business entity through subsidies for the disposal of municipal waste.

Assistance to the police officers of the Federal Police Administration in the field is also provided by the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the West Herzegovina Canton, announced the FUP.
